The Belle —

The Belle is one of several maidens carved within The Maiden Collection, a series of 41 sculptures split and carved from a single 10 ton slab of Colorado Yule Marble, and although its difficult to capture in a photo she is actually carved in such a way that a circle of light permeates through her when she has her back to a window, or when placed outside with her back to the sun. She is in fact a shining example of my Curvilinear Reductionist Sculpture. However, she is not a nude! I see her as a lovely women of the Bell Epoch, the Golden Era, stepping out in a beautiful dress, her best jewelry, and lively spring in her step! As with all my marble collection sculpture The Belle has her Serial Number (120902) engraved in the underside of her base, along with my own personal mark.
